[2022-04-20] New video: nine questions

Today, Frog Systems posted an interview I did yesterday on my experience with ovarian cancer.

Frog Systems is a UK-based company that creates online platforms to support mental health and well-being. Among its activities, it publishes videos of individuals sharing their stories. The company's vision is "To create a society where people treat each other with compassion and understanding, where they live better, feel included and achieve more."

My contribution to the organization's Champions Cinema is nine mini videos, each presenting my answer to one question:
  1. What symptoms did you have prior to being diagnosed?
  2. How did receiving the diagnosis affect you?
  3. What was the treatment process like for you?
  4. In what ways has your diagnosis made an impact on your life and work?
  5. How do you apply a positive outlook to your life after everything you have been through?
  6. What is life like for you now?
  7. What prompted you to start up your Jenesis blog?
  8. How do you hope this will help other people?
  9. What advice would you give to others going through a similar situation?

The key takeaways from my interview can be summed up thus:
  • Know the signs of ovarian cancer: more frequent urination, bloating, abdominal pain, feeling full quickly.
  • Live a life of gratitude; be grateful for everything you can do as opposed to anything you can't.
  • Take care of your health, advocate for yourself and reflect on the good in your life.
  • Remember that human connection is important at all times, but even more so when you feel vulnerable, ill or sad.
  • If cancer comes, know that you can still have a love-filled and meaningful life.
