[2022-12-30] Dishes can always wait
When I worked outside the home, my husband did most of the cooking, and I did most of the dishes. But one Friday evening, I was too tired to clean up the kitchen and I asked him, "Do you mind if I do the dishes in the morning?" He replied, "Dishes can always wait until tomorrow."
What a gracious way to remind me that:
- some things don't need to be done immediately,
- we don't need to push through everything when we're tired, and
- taking care of ourselves is often our most important responsibility.
Our stuff can usually wait.
