If you're fretting over a difficult conversation you need to have, fearing that it will be uncomfortable and awkward, it may help to remind yourself that soft words may take you farther than you ever imagined. So too might empathy, curiosity, and an open mind. Have confidence that the situation you're facing will get resolved. Things will get better. You will make them better.
