[2023-10-11] October
October
Time to close up the garden
To take stock of what grew, or didn't
To consider whether my meagre harvest—much of it shared with the squirrels—makes gardening worthwhile.
October
Time to put away the patio furniture
To sweep the deck and ready the shovels
To prepare for the first, inevitable snowfall.
October
Time to make applesauce
To make lists of the recipes I want to try
To fill the house with the smell of pumpkin oatmeal with pecans and cranberries.
October
Time to don long johns and wool socks
To put away the light summer blankets and to pull out the fluffy, winter duvet
To start pyjama time earlier each evening and to snuggle up in bed as soon as the supper dishes are done.
October
Time to rest and to heal
To create a quiet, peaceful sanctuary
To be thankful for all that is good in my life.
