[2023-12-22] Breathe love in, breathe love out

Today, I came across an inspiring mantra: "Breathe love in, breathe love out." It was referenced in an article on ways to improve your patience, beginning with yourself. Article author Sylvia Smith writes:

If you habitually have zero patience when waiting for, say, the elevator to arrive (you push relentlessly on the button), try this: While you are waiting, practice some deep breathing. Use the mantra "Breathe love in, breathe love out."

It can be a challenge to stay patient at the best of times, even more so in the days leading up to the holidays when stores are crammed, streets are packed, and our to-do list is long. It's easy to focus on what's going wrong instead of what's going right, and to take for granted the many things we should cherish.

"Breathe love in" reminds us to be grateful for the love and goodness in our lives. "Breathe love out" reminds us to amplify that love by reflecting it back out into the world.
