[2024-03-07] Women who inspire me
On the eve of International Women's Day, I find myself thinking of the women in my life—past and present—who have inspired me.
I admire you for:
- your resilience as you picked yourself up from the ashes and kept moving forward
- your tenderness as you quietly soothed a child's aching heart
- your wisdom as you taught me things that I should have been teaching you
- your joy as you committed to grabbing life even as your own slipped away
- your generosity as you shared your experience, which helped me navigate my own journey
- your insight as you pointed out things that I hadn't seen myself
- your kindness as you showed, over and over, how much you cared
- your positivity as you shined your light in the world, making it a little less dark
- your love of self as you set priorities that allowed you to heal
- your determination as you demonstrated a different kind of leadership, one based on empathy
- your tenacity as you pushed for the kind of care you deserve
- your gratitude as you adjusted your sails rather than try to change the wind
I thank you for all the good you put out into the world, including my little corner of it.
